The Federal Government has launched a free smartphone app that lets parents record their children's health, growth and development information.
Federal Minister for Health Tanya Plibersek said the My Child's eHealth Record app for Apple and Android phones records information on immunisations, height, weight, developmental milestones and so forth, which can then be accessed electronically by healthcare providers.
Before downloading and using the app, parents must register their children for eHealth records and have a myGov account.
Ms Plibersek said the app was designed to hold more and more health information as children grew. "Registering a baby or young child is a practical step parents can take that means their children will have a lifetime health record available electronically."
