Butternut Squash, Carrot And Sweetcorn Puree

Butternut Squash, Carrot And Sweetcorn Puree

A veggie-filled puree to get all the good stuff into bub.

It should be safe to introduce corn to your baby at six months, however only give a small amount mixed with other vegetables as it is high in fibre.

Suitable from 6 months
Makes: 4 portions
Suitable for freezing

Ingredients

– 300g (10oz) butternut squash, peeled and chopped
– 1 medium carrot (approx 75g/3oz), peeled and sliced
– 40g (1½ oz) sweetcorn, frozen or tinned

Method

Put the butternut squash and carrot into a saucepan and cover with 150ml (5fl oz) boiling water. Cover and cook for 10 minutes.

Add the sweetcorn and continue to cook for 3 minutes until all the vegetables are tender. Blend to a purée using an electric hand blender.

Note: Occasionally babies who have a family history of allergy or who suffer from eczema may have a reaction to corn.
