Banana And Date Slice

This easy-bake recipe is also suitable for those with egg, nut or dairy allergies.

Ingredients
90g margarine
1 tbs golden syrup
½ tsp bicarbonate of soda
1 cup plain flour
½ tsp ground nutmeg
1 cup rolled oats
½ cup dates, chopped
⅓ cup sugar
1 medium banana, mashed

Method
Preheat oven to 180°C (160°C fan-forced). Melt margarine and golden syrup in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir in bicarbonate of soda and set aside to cool.

Combine flour, nutmeg, oats, dates and sugar in a large bowl. Add margarine mixture and banana. Mix well to combine.

Press mixture into a slice pan. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden. Cool in the pan. Slice and serve.
