Supplies

A glass jar with lid
A large container of white or clear glitter
A toy tree
Craft glue

Method

1     Open the jar and place lid upside-down on a hard surface.
2     Squeeze a small amount of glue onto base of toy tree.
3     Place the prepared tree in centre of lid and set aside to dry.
4     Pour glitter into open jar and fill to about 1cm-2cm deep.
5     Once the glue has dried, screw the lid back on the jar.
6     Turn jar upside-down so the tree is standing upright, and watch the snow fall!

Tips

• Fill the jar almost to the top with distilled water (purified water from the supermarket); add a pinch of glitter and a dash of glycerin (from the supermarket)  to keep the glitter from falling too quickly. Don’t add too much, or the glitter will stick to the bottom of the jar when it’s flipped. Screw on the lid tightly, being careful not to dislodge the figurine.

• Look for interesting glass jars to suit – start a collection of fun glitter globes

• You could make different themed glitter globes using other toys such as animals & buildings or waterproof  ‘found’ objects!
